Getting Started with EOS Wallet (MetaMask Snap)

If you are a user that is new to EOS, or just new to the EOS Wallet snap, we have established this guide to help walk you through installing the EOS Wallet snap.

Before you install the snap you must have the MetaMask browser extension installed. You can download the MetaMask browser extension here.

Begin Installation

The MetaMask snap can be installed from Unicove on the MetaMask setup page or from the MetaMask Snaps Directory. We will guide you how to install the snap from Unicove, as the Snaps Directory will have an "Install" button on the EOS Wallet directory page.

From Unicove, navigate to the sign up page by clicking on "Connect Wallet" in the upper right hand side of the page. From there you will be able to click the "Sign Up" button and reach the sign up page.

You can navigate to the EOS Wallet snap installation by clicking "Continue with MetaMask" or by selecting "More Options" and viewing the browser extension wallets.

You are now on the MetaMask setup page. Click the "Install EOS Wallet" button to begin the snap installation.

Review Third-Party Software Notice and Connection Request

Review and accept the Third-party software notice, which informs the user that this snap was developed a third party team, in this case Greymass, and not by Consensys. Consensys will not have any access to the information that is shared with the snap. Please review this notice carefully before accepting.

Review Snap Permissions

Now that the connection request has been approved it is time to review the permissions associated with EOS Wallet. It is important to carefully review and consider these permissions before accepting. Click "Confirm" to continue in the installation after your review.

Some permissions require extra consideration, which MetaMask highlights during the installation. Review and accept the warning statement by clicking "Confirm".

Installation Complete

You have completed the installation of the EOS Wallet MetaMask Snap! Please click "OK" to proceed to the final screen in the installation.

The welcome message provides a link to the snap's companion application, which will guide you through the next step, which is account creation.
